Panel PC with extensive I/O expansion options

Wachendorff Prozesstechnik presents the brand new, fanless automation solution AUHMI from global supplier APLEX Technology Inc.

The AUHMI series comprises panel PCs (AUHMI-9) and displays (AUHMI-1), each in sizes from 10.1" to 21.5" TFT-LCD and IP66-certified front panel. The devices in the AUHMI series are powered by Intel Tiger Lake Core i3 and i5 of the 11th generation, which offer high computing power and very fast graphics processing. The devices support a sunlight readable solution for very bright working environments.

Elegant and robust design

Not only the outstanding computing power, but also the completely new, modern, elegant and robust design are impressive. A full-surface panel and an extremely slim frame made of die-cast aluminum are also characteristic features. Special fastening elements support installation and optimum positioning. In addition, the absence of mounting holes on the panel frame prevents dust from getting inside.

Extensive I/O expansion and communication diversity

AUHMI devices have various I/O interfaces. The AUHMI-1 series includes 1 x VGA, 1 x HDMI, 1 x DP port and OSD control. The AUHMI-9 series includes 4 x USB 3.0, 2 x GbE LAN, 1 x COM and 1 x DP/HDMI port. In addition, the panel PC also supports expansion cards, for example Mini-PCIe, COM, LAN, CAN BUS, Digital I/O, POE and USB ports.

AUHMI supports multiple internet connectivity such as Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, LTE, 5G and Giga LAN. Wi-Fi 6 significantly improves the overall performance and 5G accelerates the transmission speed. Therefore, AUHMI devices are the best choice to increase efficiency and they are especially suitable for smart manufacturing, factory automation, control and communication, SCADA and robotics applications, process control and so on.

Wachendorff Prozesstechnik has introduced the robust, waterproof stainless steel panel PCs of the PhanTAM series from APLEX Technology. The series improves the previous stainless steel solutions with an updated Intel 11th Gen. Core i3 (Dual Core) / i5 (Quad Core) BGA processor, an updated slim front bezel design, special hygienic screws on the rear housing, the ability to be used in landscape or portrait mode, and a waterproof antenna cover that eliminates the risk of bending/breaking antennas.

Like APLEX's ViTAM series, the PhanTAM series is designed for a wide range of hygienic industrial applications, including food and beverage manufacturing, the pharmaceutical industry and cleanrooms. The series features IP66 and IP69K certified protection with M12 connectors.

The fully enclosed 304 stainless steel, or optionally 316 stainless steel, housing is suitable for the food and beverage industry due to its sleek design, high corrosion resistance and germ resistance, helping to prevent any bacterial contamination.

The new hygienic screws with blue silicone rubber O-rings prevent the accumulation of water, dust and even bacteria, while offering flexible mounting options.

By adding waterproof antenna covers, users can utilize a range of antenna options (4G LTE, 5G, BT and Wi-Fi) and not have to worry about the antennas bending or breaking. This improves storage options and also makes cleaning easier.

Exchanging information between EtherCAT and Modbus TPC, Profinet, CANopen

EtherCAT clients - such as a Beckhoff PLC or OMRON PLC - can be quickly and easily connected to a Modbus TCP client, Profinet master - e.g. a PLC, a SCADA system, etc. - to exchange information between networks. - to exchange information between the networks. On the EtherCAT side, there are two Ethernet ports for EtherCAT IN and OUT connections. These enable line and ring topology for simple redundant communication.

The clever solution
Maintenance-free and wear-free, over long distances

The Wireless Bolt, wireless access point and Client, can replace existing data transmission via moving parts such as slip rings, trolleys or even drag chains in cable replacement mode. The Wireless Bolt supports all common industrial protocols. Bluetooth is a very robust radio transmission technology for industrial applications with a range of up to 100 m; WLAN can be used as an alternative. The Wireless Bolt has an IP67 protection rating so that it can also be used in adverse environments. The Wireless Bolt supports operation as an Access Point or Client, allowing small networks to be set up as required.

With the fieldbus-independent IO-Link interface, sensors and actuators can be connected to the control level via a cost-effective point-to-point connection. Wachendorff Prozesstechnik offers the right device / gateway for all common protocols, including Modbus RTU / TCP, BACnet, CAN, CANopen, J1939, EtherNet/IP, NMEA, MQTT, Profinet. When hygiene is paramount

Industrial PC ViTAM and FABS, the hygiene professionals

Compliance with special hygiene standards is extremely important in many sectors, including the food industry. Despite the coronavirus crisis, the German software company VISUALYS has announced a partnership with the Italian IIoT platform expert Xeo4. In the current corona situation, it is all the more important to make globally distributed machine data centrally available in one place.

Xeo4 is the developer and operator of the hardware-independent IIoT platform RILHEVA. With more than 15 years of experience in industry, energy and utilities, Xeo4 not only offers the right platform solution, but also experience in a wide range of applications and areas of use.

The contracts were signed by Robert Wachendorff, Managing Director of VISUALYS GmbH and Massimiliano Cravedi, Founder & Managing Director of Xeo4 - with sufficient safety distance, of course.

As an ideal addition to the ViTAM series panel PCs, the ViTAM displays now also impress with their modern, fanless stainless steel design and first-class workmanship. The front, which is visually identical to the IPC, enables seamless integration into the operating concept of the ViTAM series. Thanks to their closed housing and flush-mounted design, these displays are excellently protected against soiling and can be thoroughly cleaned very easily. Various options are available, such as projected capacitive touch with multi-touch support, optical bonding or high-brightness for outdoor use. This means that these displays can be used in a wide range of applications.

The extremely robust and powerful FABS series(FoodandBeverageSystem) from Wachendorff forms the perfect bridge between man and machine in very demanding hygienic environments. No additional PLC hardware required

The cMT series HMIs from Wachendorff Prozesstechnik can be easily upgraded to a high-performance operating device with integrated CODESYS V3 control using a CODESYS activation card in conjunction with a license sticker.
No hardware modification is required for this.

The HMIs are based on an innovative architecture in which a duo-core CPU runs two independent operating systems. With the multi-core processor, the HMI is able to implement data visualization with an operable user interface and simultaneously operate the control logic. This means that the entire performance is available for the respective processes. HMI models with 7", 9.7" and 15" screen diagonals are available.

Powerful, space-saving, user-friendly

Wachendorff presents the new G series of the FnIO functional I/O system. This series simplifies the acquisition of sensor/actuator data and provides communication to the PLC with over 10 different industrial protocols. With more than 80 different modules for inputs and outputs as well as special functions, users can configure their application-specific system as required and expand it at any time. The modular design of the G series makes it possible to simply transfer the I/O constellation required in the respective application centrally to a CODESYS controller or to implement it decentrally via a fieldbus node. The decentralized connection of the I/O modules works quickly and easily with the CODESYS controller from the G-series or the CODESYS+HMI controller solution from Wachendorff, but of course also via controllers from other manufacturers.
The optimized performance of the G-series offers, among other things, a higher IO and network scan frequency as well as a variety of industrial certifications, thus ensuring safe operation in often harsh industrial environments.
