Robert Wachendorff (Managing Director of the Wachendorff Group) with Ms. Strobl (Head of Group Pupil Support in Geisenheim and Educational Director) in an online exchange about future projects.
Support of the Rheingau Child Protection Association by the Wachendorff Group
We, the Wachendorff Group, have been involved in many social projects in our beautiful Rheingau region and the surrounding area for many years.
We also supported social projects in 2020. As the past year was a particularly difficult year with many challenges for all companies and institutions, the donations and support from outside, especially for social institutions, were very important.
In 2020, we were able to donate €1,000 to the Rheingau Child Protection Association and thus support the organization. We are very pleased that we as a company have the opportunity to be of great help to the Rheingau Child Protection Association and make many things possible.
The Kinderschutzbund creates a safe environment for children with social and individual disadvantages. The aim here is to compensate for these disadvantages and to provide the children with long-term support even after they have left school. Of course, short-term admission to the group is also possible if, for example, the parents are ill or separated. In the first case, the aim is to help children successfully complete their education, while short-term help is provided to overcome family crises. However, the two are often combined. In principle, this service is open to anyone who is affected by this.
The Kinderschutzbund offers reliable partners for children and parents. Help is available indefinitely until the child leaves school. A team of volunteers can help with many problems. From advice for parents and discussions with teachers to help with homework, from accompanying children to visits to the doctor to help with applications. The most important part of the work, however, is to provide a safe space in which children and young people can play, learn, eat, talk and be creative together without pressure. The members of the child protection team work towards this goal every day.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, it is unfortunately not possible for the staff of the Rheingau Child Protection Association to look after the children's group as usual. Donations have made it possible to take measures such as dividing the group into small groups and extending the care times. This prevents contact and overlapping care times during the coronavirus pandemic.
Visits at the front door, regular phone calls, counseling and individual support for the children are the order of the day. The association would also like to offer this online in order to be able to respond precisely to the needs of the children and young people in care and thus guarantee optimal support.
The work is subsidized by the district, but the funds do not cover the costs. Expenses for food, handicrafts, games, excursions and all other everyday needs are not covered. Without donations, the Kinderschutzbund would not be able to continue this work.
Every donation helps, is an opportunity and support for a child in Rheingau!
We are proud to be able to support this project and to be a part of this great and important initiative and would like to thank Ms. Strobl, the head of the group student support, and all the helpers for their commitment.

Rheingau Founder Award 2020
Robert Wachendorff (far left), on his personal involvement with the Rheingauer Gründungsfabrik and its start-up prize:
"We launched this prize to encourage current and former students in the Rheingau - and all Rheingau founders in general. In addition to our prize money, they should also be given a platform to present their innovations. After all, feedback on such presentations is very valuable for the next steps. The Rheingau Start-up Factory is the right place to go for professional support."
Information on the Rheingau Start-up Award:
With the Rheingau Start-up Award, the Gründungsfabrik Rheingau is launching another offer in cooperation with the Rheingauer Volksbank and the three regional partners Bäcker Dries, KISICO & Wachendorff: the "Rheingau Start-up Award 2020".
The aim is to support sustainable, original and future-oriented start-up ideas in the region.
We are looking for innovative, visionary concepts and business models from (prospective) founders from all disciplines and departments at Hochschule Geisenheim University and EBS University of Business and Law, as well as from people interested in starting a business in the Rheingau region, who deal with ecological, sustainable or social issues in an entrepreneurial way.
The start-up prize is divided into three categories:
1. best business idea during the study period,
2. best start-up from Hochschule Geisenheim University or EBS University as alumni, employees or former employees of the two universities,
3. best start-up from the Rheingau.
The special feature of the start-up prize is that participation is open not only to members of the university but also to those interested in starting a business in the Rheingau. In addition to prize money totaling €7,500 for the best three submissions in each category (1st place €1,500, 2nd place €750, 3rd place €250), the winning teams will receive a WildCard, i.e. a free entitlement to participate in one of the programs offered by the Rheingau Start-up Factory in order to further develop their business ideas. The next step in the big picture has been taken
Xeo4 & VISUALYS announce partnership
Despite the coronavirus crisis, the German software company VISUALYS has announced a partnership with the Italian IIoT platform expert Xeo4. In the current corona situation, it is all the more important to make globally distributed machine data centrally available in one place.
Xeo4 is the developer and operator of the hardware-independent IIoT platform RILHEVA. With more than 15 years of experience in industry, energy and utilities, Xeo4 not only offers the right platform solution, but also experience in a wide range of applications and areas of use.
The contracts were signed by Robert Wachendorff, Managing Director of VISUALYS GmbH and Massimiliano Cravedi, Founder & Managing Director of Xeo4 - with sufficient safety distance, of course.
"For us, one of the most important aspects of the partnership is the fact that the platform is already mature, stable and has been continuously developed for years. Likewise, the cooperation and openness for further developments in the platform has been very good right from the start. Xeo4 contributes a wealth of experience and knowledge in the field of IIoT platforms, and we contribute our knowledge from the industry. Today, we can directly connect almost all communication devices in our portfolio and are now in a position to offer a hardware-independent IIoT platform for the German market," says Robert Wachendorff, describing this important step.
Massimiliano Cravedi is also aware of the benefits of this partnership:
"This partnership represents a big step for us. The German market is an important market for us and, together with our partner, we can now offer the right solution here too. Wachendorff has been one of the leading companies in the field of automation for more than 40 years and, with its own IIoT start-up, VISUALYS, is exactly the right partner. The level that Rilheva can provide is the final step in meeting the ultimate market requirements: An "end-to-end" turnkey solution. The mix of Wachendorff & VISUALYS' powerful IIoT platform and incredibly widespread customer base is great for us. Our entire team is looking forward to starting this new journey together in Germany!"
VISUALYS is thus continuing on its planned path. When the company was founded in summer 2019, it was already clear to the VISUALYS team that, in addition to the in-house development of the local machine KPI dashboard, there also had to be an advanced solution for centralized cloud-based data collection and processing. VISUALYS has therefore deliberately decided against another completely new development.
In this partnership, VISUALYS relies on the platform expertise of its colleagues from Italy and contributes the Wachendorff Group's many years of experience and know-how in automation technology.
Advantages of the VISUALYS IIoT platform
There are already over 500 IoT platforms of various types worldwide. On the one hand, there are the large telecommunications groups that are pushing into the industrial market and exploiting their advantages in communication, but of course do not necessarily have the experts in the field of mechanical and plant engineering. At the same time, there are the large technology groups, such as Amazon, Microsoft, HP, Cisco, etc., which provide platforms for in-house development and can also score points with their own analysis services. Furthermore, the major manufacturers of automation solutions are trying to combine customer loyalty and holistic integration from planning to project planning and service in one platform with their own platform offerings. The disadvantage here is that the integration of third-party hardware is virtually impossible or very difficult.
Last but not least, there are IIoT platform providers that focus on specific areas and industries and are experts in these fields. These include the VISUALYS IIoT platform, which focuses on mechanical and plant engineering and can connect almost all communication devices such as routers, IoT Gateways & Co via the standard protocols OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, APIs etc. thanks to its hardware-independent platform. This enables VISUALYS GmbH to launch directly onto the market with a complete solution.

Remote maintenance even more powerful with Talk2M
Due to the high demand in these difficult times, the inclusive data volume for the Talk2M remote maintenance portal for remote access was already increased from 1 GB to 3 GB (3 GB to 9 GB for Talk2M Pro) a few months earlier.
In addition, from October the integrated data storage of the DataMailbox will be increased from 500,000 data points to 5,000,000 data points (for Talk2M Pro from 3,000,000 to 10,000,000). This allows for easier, more detailed evaluation and operation of a smaller number of data collection devices at no additional cost.
When using Talk2M Free, the defined limits with a 3-month tolerance period are now consistently implemented.
Talk2M data traffic for remote access increased
... through additional data volume
We have noticed that customers are using the advantage of remote access more than ever, especially in these difficult times, in order to be able to carry out their service efficiently. To support our customers, Talk2M is increasing the included data traffic for remote access, with no time limit:
