With our Ewon Cosy+ (remote access) and Ewon Flexy (remote access + data services) series routers, connecting to Siemens MindSphere is quick and easy.
The Ewon Cosy+ router offers a powerful teleservice and telecontrol solution
for all common Siemens control systems
It enables manufacturers and machine builders to provide maintenance and technical support remotely in a simple and secure way.
- Work with your familiar Siemens S7 Manager and TIA Portal programming environments as if you were on site
- Full access via VPN for e.g. project changes or web-based access for diagnostics and visualization
- Remote access to your controller with the S7 app and the free eCatcher Mobile connection app
- Optional connection of the Siemens Teleservices adapter
- Connection of older controllers via USB to MPI/PPI adapters
- Free use of the Talk2M connection portal for central user and device management and for providing connection reports
- Very easy integration into your own IT landscape thanks to outgoing connections
- Optional connection release via key switch

Remote maintenance of a Siemens controller / Siemens operating device
Version: 1.0
The Ewon Flexy router complements remote access
through innovative data services
This includes data recording, visualization and alarming of values from the controller, which can be processed via various physical interfaces and protocols. Support ranges from the older S5 controller to the current S7-1500 series.
- Direct access to the controller data (data blocks, flags, timers, counters, I/O, etc.)
- Data provision via OPC-UA, MQTT and ModbusTCP
- Edge Gateway function with data pre-processing in BASIC and JAVA
- Optional interface extensions for MPI/Profibus
- Integrated gateway function from ISO-on-TCP to MPI/Profibus (e.g. for S7 300/400 without EtherNet)
- Connection of S5 and S7-200 via optional serial interfaces
- Connection to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Webservices, Cumulocity, Thingworx, etc.

Reading variables from a Siemens controller
Version: 1.1
The IIoT operating system MindSphere from Siemens is cloud-based. Many well-known machine manufacturers and plant operators already rely on MindSphere as a "Platform as a Service" (PaaS) for connecting machines and plants.
The core functions already offer everything needed to manage and visualize collected data. This includes KPI & Dashboards, Asset Manager, Fleet Manager, Process Builder and other services. The extended functions include, for example, "Analytic Services" for KPI calculation, anomaly detection, event analysis, signal calculation and validation, trend predictions.
The APP store integrated in MindSphere contains both Siemens applications and applications from partners.
The microservice architecture enables the rapid development of own applications via APIs.
The innovation cycle with the digital twin
A product or production is represented by a virtual model. The digital twin reflects every change to the physical counterpart over the entire life cycle. This provides a detailed insight into the best possible design of a product or production process.
Data security
The connection is secured by Siemens MindSphere in accordance with the specifications. The MindSphere security architecture fulfills the requirements of IEC62443, ISO27001 and the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). Data is always 256-bit encrypted during transmission in accordance with the TLS/SSL standard
The Ewon Flexy Mindsphere connector
The Ewon Flexy router can be used to quickly access data from existing systems. This includes S7 300/400 with MPI/Profibus or even S5 controllers. However, many systems also contain machines with controllers from Schneider Electric, ABB, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Hitachi and Omron. These can also be easily integrated thanks to the versatile interfaces and protocols of the Flexy router. Communication takes place via the programming interface of the respective system and requires no adaptation of the control program.
Actual data, historical data and alarms can be transmitted. The data to be transferred is simply selected and linked to the corresponding asset and aspect in MindSphere. Both the data types and units are clearly defined and simplify further handling of the data.
The connection to the Ewon Flexy router is monitored via MindSphere in the corresponding linked asset.
