The new ZTA9648O, featuring a brilliant OLED display, is a digital counter/tachometer designed to connect to all standard sensors. The inputs can process NPN and PNP sensors as well as potential-free contacts, which are typically found in proximity sensors, flow sensors, and rotary encoders. With a maximum input frequency of 100 kHz, the counter is suitable for very high-speed applications. The ZTA9648O has four independent count inputs (Counter 1 and Counter 2; Counter 1 includes a tachometer function), and the counters have a resolution of 64 bits. The display scales the font size according to the number of digits to be displayed. The desired unit of measurement can be freely selected. The display has 4 outputs (2x relays and 2x PNP); these are freely configurable and can be assigned to the counter/tachometer.
The RS485 serial interface enables networking in a Modbus RTU network and remote access. (Slave connection based on the Modbus RTU protocol). In addition to its very shallow mounting depth, IP54-rated front panel, removable terminal blocks, and text-menu-driven programming interface, this display stands out thanks to its monochrome yellow OLED display. This ensures optimal readability and an extremely wide viewing angle in challenging industrial environments, even in direct sunlight. The visualization is freely configurable from one value per page up to four values per page, leaving nothing to be desired for the user. With the Wachendorff EMG app, you’ll discover a whole new way to configure the meter/tachometer. The Wachendorff EMG app has currently been developed only for Android operating systems; other operating systems, such as Apple iOS, are not currently supported by the app. Development of a Wachendorff EMG app for iOS operating systems has already begun. The app allows you to read, write, program, and manage your Wachendorff devices with an NFC interface. When connected via NFC, the meter/tachometer is automatically detected and the app opens. To do this, simply hold your smartphone in front of the meter/tachometer for a few seconds. Once the existing parameters have been successfully read, you can then view each parameter individually and change them as needed. You can also easily save the read configuration to your smartphone and reload it at any time. After you’ve changed the desired parameters, you can load the new configuration into the device. You can also send the saved configuration file (.atr backup file) via email, SMS, WhatsApp, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct, etc. You can save configurations on the optional USB programming module (SFUR0USB) and then transfer them to other devices—ideal for batch commissioning.

Programming:
Programming and operation are menu-driven via the front buttons and text, and the system can be switched between 5 languages (English, Italian, German, French, Spanish). All settings are protected by a 4-digit password (which cannot be changed). Additionally, programming is possible via the Wachendorff EMG app (via NFC/RFID*) for Android smartphones. For programming via the app, the meter/tachometer can be in a de-energized state. The Wachendorff EMG app is currently only compatible with Android operating systems. A Wachendorff EMG app that supports iOS operating systems will be available soon.
*: When queried by a reader that supports the NFC-V protocol, the device is to be considered a VICC (Vicinity Inductively Coupled Card) in accordance with the ISO/IEC 15693 standard. The controller operates at a frequency of 13.56 MHz. The device does not emit radio waves on its own.

Programming Note:
The NFC sensor is located on the right side of the display, behind the buttons.
Smartphone cases can interfere with the connection and should therefore be removed from the smartphone while programming.
