APMR phase monitor
for monitoring 3-phase networks
detects phase failure, phase asymmetry, undervoltage and incorrect phase sequence
- Multifunctional device for monitoring 3-phase networks
- detects phase failure, phase asymmetry, undervoltage and incorrect phase sequence
- available for 230 VAC, 380 VAC and 480 VAC three-phase networks
- Simple installation on C-rail or top-hat rail
- adjustable switch-on delay for undervoltage detection

The APMR is an ideal protection for motors and other devices with a 3-phase connection. The following faults are detected simultaneously by the module: Incorrect phase sequence, total failure of one of the phases, phase asymmetry and undervoltage.
The output relay (changeover contact) is normally switched so that the three-phase device is disconnected from the mains when the APMR detects a fault. If there is no fault, the LED on the front lights up green and the relay is energized. If there is an incorrect phase sequence, phase asymmetry or undervoltage, the LED lights up red and the relay drops out. If one phase fails, the relay also drops out.

Phase asymmetry:
Phase asymmetry is present in a 3-phase network when one phase is overloaded compared to the others. The APMR detects even a "creeping" asymmetry, which is usually not detected by thermal and magnetic devices.
Phase failure:
In the event of a phase failure, the contact to a phase is completely interrupted. The APMR detects a phase failure even in the event of voltage feedback.
Incorrect phase sequence:
If the phase sequence is incorrect, two of the three phases are reversed. This causes a motor to reverse its direction of rotation, for example. The APMR detects an incorrect phase sequence regardless of the load on the individual phases.
Undervoltage:
The APMR detects an undervoltage on the phases. A delay time can be set to avoid a switching relay when the motor starts up.
