The signal converters in the WK series were developed with the requirements for compactness and high accuracy in mind. At the same time, the number of components has been drastically reduced to ensure a long service life and a high MTBF value.
The housing, which is only 6.2 mm narrow, allows the use of a large number of signal converters - even where space is limited.
The high resolution and accuracy as well as the flexible setting of the signal converters via DIP switches enable use in applications where precise conversion and adaptation to the conditions play a major role.
The galvanic 3-way isolation between input, supply and output signal also ensures maximum electrical safety.
Power supply
With the exception of the loop-powered instruments, which are not bus-powered, the WK signal formers can be supplied with power in 3 different ways: from the spring-cage terminals (24 VDC directly from the power supply unit) or through the SMART-SUPPLY systems (see 2 and 3).
The SMART SUPPLY system is based on expandable WK-BUS plugs.
It is possible to distribute the power supply to up to 16 devices as long as the total consumption does not exceed 400 mA. The decentralized supply with a WK-SUPPLY module with on-board overvoltage protection enables the connection of up to 75 devices with a maximum current consumption of 1.6 A (approx. 21 mA per module).
