As soon as you have connected your device to a Netbiter gateway on site, you can set up remote access. HMS has already verified remote access for many devices.

The multi-vendor Netbiter solution is ideal for system integrators and machine builders who need full access to their remote machines and equipment to minimize downtime and reduce on-site maintenance and travel costs.

A feature of the EasyConnect EC300 series Netbiter Gateways

"Remote Access" is a function of the Netbiter gateways in the EasyConnect EC300 series. This function is free of charge for a data volume of up to 1 gigabyte per month and is set up via the cloud-based Netbiter ^ArgosTM remote maintenance portal. The remote maintenance portal is hosted and maintained by HMS.

In addition to the remote access function, Netbiter also offers extensive functions for operational data acquisition and alarming.

• Enables remote programming and diagnostics of PLCs. You use your standard PC-based configuration software (e.g. RSlogix, TIA Portal, GX Developer etc.) as if you were directly connected to the PLC/machine on site.
• Uses Netbiter Argos as an intelligent routing portal, so you don't need to know the IP address of the Netbiter Gateways or have a SIM card with a fixed IP address.
• Fast, secure and user-friendly cloud-based solution that allows system integrators and machine builders to access their field devices at any time and from any location. This reduces travel costs and minimizes downtime.
• Access your equipment at any time (24/7) with the Netbiter Gateways from the EC300 series and the Netbiter ^ArgosTM cloud-based remote maintenance portal.
• Connection to the machine/PLC serial (RS232/485), via Ethernet WAN or LAN.
• Secure data communication via the Internet to the connected devices in the field via Ethernet or mobile radio (3G). Netbiter uses 2-stage identification for remote access to your devices.
• The "Remote Access" function is available with Netbiter Gateways from the EC300 series. Free of charge for data volumes of up to 1 GB per month, subject to a charge for higher data volumes.
• Cross-manufacturer, scalable complete solution, additional functions such as production data acquisition and alarming can be added on site as required while retaining the Gateways in the system.

Netbiter Remote Access was developed for connections that are time-limited. A PLC programmer can establish the connection to complete his tasks and then close the channel again.
