Hand-held stroboscope Nova-Strobe Delux DBX
Battery operation
- mains-independent thanks to battery operation ( dbx ) or direct 230 VAC connection for continuous operation ( dax )
- 30 to 20,000 flashes per minute
- Phase delay
- external triggering and synchronization possible/trigger edge selectable
- backlit, brilliant LCD display with many functions

The Nova-Strobe stroboscope is used for speed and vibration measurement or for observing movement. Its handy design and low weight make it easy to carry out measurements even in hard-to-reach places. The flash frequency is set using a rotary knob and shown on a display.
The device also has a trigger input and a trigger output, enabling external triggering and synchronization.
The supply voltage is provided by an internal rechargeable battery ( dbx ) or by direct connection to 230 VAC via mains cable ( dax ).
Display:
2-line LCD display 13 mm / 7 mm digit height
6-digit numeric and 5-digit alphanumeric
Operation:
6 buttons on the viewing side and rotary knob on the side for dynamic speed adjustment
The knob with an incremental rotary encoder adjusts the speed. The individual decimal places can be selected and changed by pressing the knob.
Frequency range:
Stroboscope:
30.0 FPM to 20,000.0 FPM (flashes per minute)
0.5 FPS to 333.33 FPS (flashes per second)
Adjustable via rotary knob, keypad or external triggering.
Tachometer:
Speed display with external triggering
Range: 5.0 rpm to 250,000 rpm with optional sensor
Resolution:
0.01 FPM to 1 FPM (adjustable)
0.1 FPM max. resolution above 9999.99 FPM
Accuracy:
Stroboscope: 0.002% of the display value or ± last digit
Tachometer: ±0.001% of the display value or ± last digit

The internal oscillator and the rotary knob for frequency setting are deactivated as long as a jack plug is plugged in.
Output:
Enables synchronization with other devices. Connection via 2-pin, 3.5 mm jack plug. The output is TTL-compatible and corresponds to the flash frequency of the stroboscope. Trigger edge selectable (rising or falling edge). Pulse duration: 40 µsec.
