Industrial Wireless Access Point WiFi 6

Ultra high-speed Wi-Fi 6 WLAN solution developed for industrial environments

The WLANAP1800 Industrial Dual Band 802.11ax 1800Mbps Wireless Access Point with 5 10/100/1000T LAN ports is equipped with a robust IP30 metal housing for stable operation in heavy industrial environments. The WLANAP1800, which supports MU-MIMO, OFDMA, Seamless Roaming, Beamforming and BSS Coloring technology, also offers a maximum wireless speed of 1200Mbps in the 5GHz band and 600Mbps in the 2.4GHz band. The maximum number of client users is up to 150, ensuring more secure and robust connectivity with the introduction of Wi-Fi 6 technology.

As the WLANAP1800/2400 can operate in a wide temperature range of -40 to 75 degrees Celsius, it can be used in almost any challenging environment. The WLANAP1800/2400 can be mounted either on a DIN rail or on the wall to make efficient use of the space in the control cabinet.

Advantages of MU-MIMO, OFDMA, seamless roaming, beamforming and BSS coloring

The WLAN AccessPoint can be installed in many areas such as production halls, machines and plants, as OFDMA, a multi-user version of OFDM, enables the simultaneous operation of APs communicating with multiple clients (uplink and downlink) by assigning subsets of subcarriers, so-called Resource Units (RUs), to the individual clients.

With MU-MIMO and Seamless Roaming technologies, it provides a better Wi-Fi user experience and reduces the likelihood of connection failure when moving from one Wi-Fi network to another, taking into account the data rate needs of different subscribers.

Beamforming improves your Wi-Fi signal when you are far away from your industrial AP.

BSS Coloring is a numerical identifier for the BSS. 802.11ax radios are able to distinguish between BSS by color coding when other subscribers are transmitting on the same channel.

These technologies can also solve problems with Wi-Fi connections under difficult conditions (many other WLAN networks).

More information

Advanced security and strong authentication

The WLANAP1800/2400 supports WPA/WPA2/WPA3 wireless encryption, in the Private or Enterprise version, to effectively prevent eavesdropping and access by unauthenticated, unauthorized users. In addition, the administrator can pre-define or deny access to the wireless LAN network based on the ACL (Access Control List) for any user.

Multiple operating modes for different applications

The device supports simplified AP and Gateway usage modes, providing users with more flexibility in setting up a wireless network. Compared with general wireless access points, the WLANAP1800/2400 provides more powerful and flexible functions for wireless clients.

Optimized efficiency in AP management

The brand new GUI configuration wizard helps the system administrator to set up the WLANAP1800/2400 step by step. In addition, the built-in Wi-Fi analyzer provides real-time channel utilization to avoid channel overlap and ensure better performance. With the automatic transmission power mechanism, distance control and scheduled reboot setting, the WLANAP1800/2400 is easy for the administrator to install and manage without the need for on-site maintenance. In addition, you can use the PLANET NMS-500 or NMS-1000V AP control function to broadcast wireless profiles to multiple APs simultaneously, simplifying centralized management.

Cybersecurity network solution to minimize security risks

The WLANAP1800/2400 supports TLS protocols to provide strong protection against advanced threats. It includes a cyber security feature such as SNMPv3 authentication for secure network management.

User-friendly and secure management

For efficient management, the WLANAP1800/2400 is equipped with web and SNMP management interfaces. With the integrated web-based management interface, the WLANAP1800/2400 offers a user-friendly, platform-independent management and configuration option. By supporting the standard SNMP protocol, the switch can be managed via any SNMP-based management software. In addition, the WLANAP1800/2400 offers secure management by supporting TLSv1.3 protocols and SNMP v3 connections, which encrypt packet content at each session.

Dual power supply for high availability

The WLANAP1800/2400 has a powerful dual voltage input with a wide range (9 V~ 54 VDC). The power supply is therefore flexible but also very fail-safe. In the following example, if power supply unit 1 fails, the hardware failover function is automatically activated to supply the WLANAP1800/2400 alternatively via power supply unit 2 without any loss of operation.

Effective alerting for better protection

The WLANAP1800/2400 supports fault alerts that warn the user when something is wrong with the device. With this feature, users do not have to waste time trying to find the problem.

Digital input and digital output for alarms

The WLANAP1800/2400 supports a digital input and a digital output on the top of the device. With this external alarm, users can use the digital input to detect and log the status of external devices (e.g. door intrusion detectors) and send an event alarm to the administrators. The digital output can be used to alert the administrators if the WLANAP1800/2400 port indicates a connection loss, connection establishment or power failure.
