PID Temperatur / Prozessregler TCU/PCU

These controllers are all-rounders. Equipped with a newly developed Thermo-ASIC, modern programming, operating and control technologies are implemented in a housing designed for harsh industrial use. Everything has been done to ensure that the devices can be put into operation quickly, are easy and safe to operate and perform their task efficiently for many years. Finally, superior functionality ensures simple adaptation to all conceivable control tasks. The process parameters can be determined via self-optimization and then easily modified. The operator is continuously informed of the actual value. The second display allows the setpoint, percentage output or deviation to be displayed at the touch of a button. The devices have a newly developed calculation algorithm, with which the target value is approached particularly quickly and overshoot is minimized. The output board can be changed quickly and easily.

Important data

- 6 LEDs provide information about important statuses:
- Buttons: The device is put into operation via the 4 front buttons and operated clearly and simply.
- Measuring cycle: 100 ms, response time: 300 ms.
- Resolution: 1 or 0.1°C
- User input: Internal pull-up to +5 V (1 Mohm).
Functions: Program inhibit, inhibit integral component, automatic/manual mode, set ramp, reset alarms, load 2nd setpoint.
- Programming: The device is programmed in 3 levels via 4 front buttons.
- Power supply: Switchable 230/115 VAC (+10%, -15%) 48 to 62 Hz, 10 VA.
- Degree of protection: Water jet-proof and dust-proof from the front in accordance with IP 65.

Display

Actual value: 4-digit, 10 mm high red LED. Information: 4-digit, 8 mm high green LED for setpoint, % output power, deviation, unit °F or °C, operating and error messages:

Inputs

- TCU: Thermocouples S,T,J,N,K,E,R,B and Pt 100, -5 ... +56 mV; 1.0 - 320.0 Ohm.
- PCU: 0-10 VDC with accuracy: +(0.15% + 3 mV) or 0-20 mA with accuracy: +(0.15% + 6 µA).
Range and zero offset is possible.

Housing

- Type:Flame and scratch-resistant plastic. Rear is mounted on the control panel, front can be removed.
- Dimensions: W 50 x H 97 x D 137 mm. Panel cut-out DIN W 45 x H 92 mm.
- Connection: via screw terminals

Accessories

Output modules are not included with the basic device:
- Relay module: 5 A changeover contact at 120/240 VAC or 28 VDC (resistive load), 90 watts at 120 VAC (inductive load).
- Driver module for SSR: 12 VDC, 45 mA, short-circuit proof, can drive max. 3 solid-state relays.
- Triac module: Galvanically isolated, zero-crossing detection, 240 VAC/20-500 Hz at 1 A (35°C).
- Solid-state relay (SSR): Connects to the driver module and switches 50 to 280 VAC (nominal 240 VAC) at max. 45 A (35 A at ambient temperature = 50°C). Dimensions: W 140 x H 120 x D 66 mm (incl. heat sink).
- Current transformer: 50 : 0.1 A AC, +5.0%, 50 - 400 Hz for converting high currents.

Basic version TCU/PCU

The basic version includes a control output for two-point control with P, I, PI, PD and PID behavior. The output is time-proportional. An output module or the analog output option is required for the control output. Depending on the option, a maximum of 3 output modules can be plugged in.

Options

- AL2: Two alarms switch when the temperature or the process parameter, the deviation or the interval band is exceeded or not reached. One or two output modules are required for the alarms.
- RA2: Second control output (cooling) for heating/cooling control with programmable ratio for heating and adjustable overlap or deadband. One output module is required for cooling and another for an additional alarm. Two alarms are not possible here.
- ANA: Analog output, freely scalable, 4-20 mA with resolution 3500 steps, 500 Ohm load.
- ANV: Analog output 0 - 10 VDC, resolution 3500 steps,
- RS4: RS485 interface for communication with external devices and other PID controllers. Baud rate: 300 - 9600 adjustable.
- HSÜ: Heating current monitoring, 100 mA AC from e.g. current transformer (see accessories), 50 - 460 Hz, galvanically isolated.
- AN2: Second analog input, freely scalable, 0-20 mA for external setpoint specification or cascade control with 2 control loops.
- DPS: Three-point step control with feedback 100 - 100 kOhm, supply 0.9 V. Defect detection programmable. One output module for opening/closing and one module for an alarm are required. Two alarms are not possible here.
